Prominent Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi has directed his words of caution towards President Bola Tinubu, urging him to seek guidance from experts rather than relying on sycophants when formulating critical policies. Gumi’s counsel comes in the wake of concerns about certain policies within the administration led by President Tinubu, which Gumi believes could potentially lead to detrimental consequences for the nation if not reconsidered.
Gumi’s message was conveyed through a concise 22-second video clip shared on his official Facebook page. In the video, he highlighted the urgency of revisiting these policies to avert any possible harm, cautioning that if these policies persist unchecked, they could pose a significant threat to both the nation and the stability of the government itself.
Addressing President Tinubu directly, Gumi stated, “President Tinubu, you have to revise your policies; if not they are going to destroy the nation and they are also going to destroy your government. Your political and economic policies, you have to review them. You have to ask people who know better and don’t depend on these sycophants.”
Ahmad Abubakar Gumi boasts a notable background as an Islamic scholar, a scholar, and a former military officer who held the rank of captain in the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA). Presently, he serves as the Mufti and mufassir at the Kaduna central mosque, Sultan Bello.
