Arsenal news: Bukayo Saka’s contract demand as Gunners star ‘open’ to exit

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has made his contract demands known amid reports linking him with a move to Liverpool as another Gunners star appears set to leave the club

Bukayo Saka will reportedly factor in the likelihood of playing Champions League football before signing a new contract with the Gunners.

The England international has become a key figure for Mikel Arteta’s side this season and has so far registered six goals and four assists in 21 matches.

But he is yet to be given a place at the Gunners’ top table when it comes to earnings, with recent reports suggesting he could leave the club.

It comes as another Arsenal star who has become embroiled in a transfer saga is said to be ‘open’ to leaving the club.

And Mikel Arteta has called for a change in culture at the club after ill-discipline has cost his side on several occasions this season.

In all competitions, the Gunners have had 14 players sent off during Arteta’s time at the helm – six more than their nearest Premier League rivals, Southampton, during the same period.

And Arteta has now hit out at the poor discipline which has blighted his side – and says the club must improve its recruitment to stop the problem from occurring.
Saka has enjoyed a rapid rise at Arsenal and has become a key figure in the starting XI under Mikel Arteta.
But his fine form has alerted Premier League rivals Liverpool to his talents, with the Reds said to be considering making an offer for the England star.

With Saka currently pocketing around £35,000-a-week, Arsenal are keen to tie him down to a longer deal on improved terms but may not be able to meet his one big demand.
