The Bauchi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s recent ruling, affirming Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir as the duly elected Governor, has been hailed as a testament to the unwavering trust and confidence placed in the Governor by the voters.
The voters expressed their trust and confidence by overwhelmingly re-electing Sen. Bala Mohammed for a second term, demonstrating their resolute support.
Hon. Samuel J. Haruna, the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, conveyed this sentiment while speaking with journalists in Bauchi on Sunday, in response to the tribunal’s judgment.
He extended his congratulations to Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for securing another victory at the Tribunal, which affirmed his win as declared by the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) in the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
Furthermore, Haruna characterized the verdict as a “victory for democracy, the rule of law, and the will of the majority of voters in the state.”
He also commended Governor Bala for consistently displaying an unwavering commitment to fairness and upholding democratic principles that facilitate the full expression of fundamental rights within the state.
While applauding the Judiciary for its impartiality and fairness, Hon. Samuel J. Haruna urged the conscientious citizens of the state to rally around this judicial triumph for the Governor and the people. He emphasized the Governor’s ongoing efforts to bolster economic growth, stability, sustainable peace, and infrastructure development in the state.
The Executive Secretary also lauded the Governor for ensuring that Christians in the state can participate in the annual pilgrimage to Israel and other countries for religious activities, despite financial constraints.
He assured that Christian pilgrims would continue to be exemplary representatives of the state during religious pilgrimages, recognizing the government’s substantial financial commitment to this endeavor.
