
“The Diligent Worker,” a new book written by Evi Constance Omagbemi, was launched on Wednesday, December 7th at the Mike Adenuga Center in Lagos. Omagbemi, the winner of the NIMASA Employee of the Year award for 2019, is a Nigerian lawyer and public servant with over 15 years of experience in various fields such as litigation, legal advisory, company secretarial, shipping, policy, and strategy. The book, subtitled “12 practical principles to achieve excellence at work and life,” was dedicated “In loving memory of my father Rt. Hon. Young Daniel Igbrude” and received a review by Dr. Reuben Abati.
Yinka Sanni, the Chief Executive of Africa Regions at Standard Bank, wrote the foreword and praised the book as providing “inspiration and motivation to chase after excellence in a godly manner.” She said, “I am delighted to recommend this book to anyone, and honored to have written the forward. The event included entertainment from the Komzy Band and Daddy Showkey, as well as a book signing and photograph session. The Chief host was Engr. Victor Ochei Esq, with opening remarks by Mr. Festus Keyano SAN and closing remarks by Mr. Osamgbi Isichei. Omagbemi is also the founder of the Diligent Generation, a non-profit organization focused on empowering young adults through education and advocacy programs.
She is married to Engr. Martins Omagbemi and they have four children. “The Diligent Worker” discusses the 12 principles of diligence, including vision, hard work, focus, authenticity, values, consistency, networking, and balance, in order to consistently deliver exceptional results in the workplace and live fulfilled lives. The book is meant to be accessible to anyone, regardless of their background or social standing. Omagbemi is committed to advancing the kingdom of God on earth.
