Maryam Shetty responded on Friday to her removal from the ministerial nomination list by President Bola Tinubu, who replaced her with Dr. Mairiga Mahmud from Kano State. Despite being substituted, Shetty expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his decision.
The female nominee learned about her withdrawal and replacement with another nominee during the Senate plenary session in Abuja on Friday. She had left her home to attend the National Assembly for the screening process, completely unaware of the substitution.
In a brief statement, Shetty acknowledged the development without revealing further details about her reaction to the nomination change.
“I was just informed now at today’s plenary session that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu has withdraw my ministerial nomination and replaced with Dr Mairiga Mahmud.
“I’m grateful and thankful for any decision from you, My President!”
