Novak Djokovic: Adam Hills shares opinion on tennis star.
Even though he has not played a competitive game of tennis in over two months, Novak Djokovic simply cannot escape the attention of the world at the moment. The next big tournament on the tennis calendar is the BNP Paribas Open, which takes place in Indian Wells, California, starting on March 7.
It is a competition which Djokovic has won five times – yet just like the Australian Open it currently seems totally up in the air whether or not he will be allowed to take part this year.
His fans were offered fresh hope when his name appeared on the confirmed entry list earlier this week.
Yet a statement from the organisers of the event read: “With health and safety as the tournament’s top priority, the BNP Paribas Open will require valid proof of full vaccination to enter the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for the tournament.”
There are now fears that we could be stuck in a similar situation to that of the Australian Open, and one can only hope this time it is resolved in a much more simple and orderly fashion.
Novak Djokovic has not played for over two months.
Many onlookers have questioned how Djokovic must be feeling following his traumatic experience last month.
Yet judging by a recent training video released by his camp, the 34-year-old seems to be in high spirits.
Footage showed the 20-time Grand Slam winner being put through his paces at the gym while his trainer watches on.
And Djokovic does not appear to have a care in the world as he jumps playfully from side-to-side, laughing and clapping as he does so.
