Peter Obi Emerges Winner in Imo State in the 2023 Elections

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has been declared the winner of the Imo state presidential election held on Saturday.

The announcement was made by the Returning Officer for the state, Charles Esimone, on Tuesday in Owerri, the state capital. Obi secured a total of 352,904 votes, while Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress received 66,171 votes.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party obtained 30,044 votes, and Rabiu Kwankwaso got 1,536 votes. The results were collated from 26 out of the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.

According to Charles, the results of the polling units in Njaba LGA were not collated as a result of violence.
