RAFWE empowers widows, inaugurates Foundation in Delta

DELTA STATE, People’s Redemption Party (PRP) Deputy Governorship candidate, Bishop Gloria Ndidi Umerah, was on ground to inaugurate The Radiant Foundation for Women Empowerment. Speaking at the Unveiling and empowerment program held on 17th of the September, in Asaba, Umerah said that His Excellency Immanuel Edijala’s administration is what Delta State needs now.

At the event, the Governorship Candidate of the PRP party got a cheer from the women when he promised that 30% of the state’s budget will be marked for women’s empowerment.


To lessen the plights of widows the foundation doled out cash donations to some widows and other women in need of support. Speaking with the pressmen, Lady Ijeoma Uche, the national secretary explained that, “the group has always visited Orphanage Homes and Women’s Centers, with gifts and food items. Today, we have hundreds of women volunteers converging for this inauguration of the group “
Also speaking at the inauguration of the foundation at Kim Royale Hotels and Suites, 1-7 Fabial Edward Street, Opposite the University of Asaba, Delta State, the National Publicity Secretary, Rosemary Nkemdilim Okeke, said the foundation was committed to driving its vision of bringing laughter to widows and joy to women in general.


“Thousands of Nigerian women and children in Lagos, Abuja, and the Niger Delta states are set to benefit from a series of welfare, transformative skills, and knowledge aimed at improving their standard of living and ushering them into a sustainable growth trajectory. The mandate is to ensure the widows are shown love and have access to support,” said Rosemary.


The RAFWE president and founder, Bishop Glory Umerah, said the inauguration of the foundation was to solidify the works the organization already started even before the foundation was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria.


Elated by the gesture, as many widows got awarded cash prizes of One Hundred Thousand Naira each, a widow, Mrs. Vera, commended the foundation for reaching out to as many women as possible, stressing that life had been unbearable for many of the widows since their husbands died. She said the funds and other gifts would go a long way in alleviating their suffering.


Also, a widow, who wanted to remain anonymous, who lost her husband five years ago, also voiced appreciation to the foundation for its goodwill and love for widows. She urged the government and other well-meaning Nigerians to toe the good lines of the foundation in taking care of indigent citizens.
Earlier, the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) Governorship candidate, Immanuel Edijala, who was in attendant with his wife, Joanna Edijala, extolled the vision of the foundation and pledged to work towards supporting the women’s foundation. At the event, the Governorship Candidate of the PRP party got a cheer from the women when he promised that 30% of the state’s budget will be marked for women’s empowerment, once he became the Governor of Delta State.


In preparation and readiness for the assignment that comes with being the PRP’s Deputy Governorship Candidate, Bishop Glory Umerah handed over the operations of the foundation to her RAFWE’s deputy president, Mrs. Ijeoma Charity Nnagboro, in accordance with the Nigeria Electoral demands.

Dr Glory Adewoye National Membership Officer. Ondo State Coordinator. Mrs Jessica Don. National Secretary Akwa Ibom state Coordinator. Mrs. Mary Okogwu, Spiritual Welfare.


Some of the dignitaries that witness the inauguration are; Mother of the day, Mrs Doris Omodon Mogun and High Chief Emmanuel Ogbeh — the Onowu of Utagbaogbe Kingdom.And as part of the side attractions, the women from the various states performed a very colorful and entertaining cultural dance and there was also a beautiful Drama presentation to drive some salient message.
Speaking at the Unveiling and empowerment program held on 17th of the September, in Asaba, Umerah said that His Excellency Immanuel Edijala’s administration is what Delta State needs now. Bishop Glory is the running mate of the PRP Delta State governorship candidate, Olorogun Immanuel Edijala. Her party has a clear-cut plan for the state which is organized as The POWER agenda:
P —Productivity through the efficient attraction of Investments in the Power, Oil, and Gas sectors to catalyze our Industrial take-off and provision of electricity for domestic use. O — for Order, Security, efficient Justice Delivery, and Equitable Allocation of Government Resources using modern management tools and data to tackle Environmental and Health emergencies. W — for Wealth creation without Gender Bias to be implemented in a ratio of 70:30 in favor of the youth, i.e our young men and women over our aging male population, to drive our 24/7 productive economy. A reward system for excellence shall be established. E — for Education’s budgetary allocation of a minimum of 30% to produce the workforce for the Delta Digital Economy that will make us emerge as the “digital factory” for the Nigeria DIGITAL FOUNDATION providing 21st-century technology and telecom infrastructure and services to Africa and the world. And lastly, R — will focus on Reengineering our Roads, Rail, Ports, and other world-class infrastructure that will rival developed countries as we pursue affordable Housing, Urban Renewal, and Rural Penetration to create clean and blue cities for our people, even as we design a 50 years Marshall Plan. of Action for future Generations to develop on.
